CSET: Multiple Subjects
Computer-Administered Practice Test |
A
computer-administered practice test program for
the CSET is available for download. If you
do not wish to or are not able to download this
program, a paper-based version of the practice test
is provided here.
The CSET: Multiple Subjects Computer-Administered Practice Test is an interactive computer program that contains practice test forms for CSET: Multiple Subjects Subtests I, II, and III. The program includes a tutorial providing instructions on how to use and navigate through the practice test, a full-length practice test for each CSET: Multiple Subjects subtest, scoring of the multiple-choice section of each subtest, and password-protected multi-user capabilities (i.e., subsequent users may access and utilize the program without affecting practice test work in progress for another individual).
This is a stand-alone Java™ program (1.37 MB) that must be downloaded to the computer on which it will be used. The practice test may be taken by more than one person on the same computer without downloading additional copies of the software.
NOTE: The CSET: Multiple
Subjects Computer-Administered Practice Test only works with Java versions 1.4 and earlier. Currently, the test will not
work with Java version 1.5 or 1.6. Before following the procedure described below, verify
the version of Java running on your computer. Do not download and install version 1.4 if you already
have a later version installed on your computer. A new version of the practice test supporting Java version 1.5 and higher
will be released soon.
To determine the version of Java running on Windows, click on
Start → Settings → Control Panel →
Java and select the
General tab.
On a Mac with OS X, click
Finder → Applications → Utilities, launch the
Terminal application, and type in "
java
-version" at the
% prompt. The
response will look like this:
java version "1.6.0_01-dp"
Java™ SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_01-dp-b06-101)
Java HotSpot™ 64-Bit Server VM (build 1.6.0_01-41-release, mixed mode)
The first two digits after the words "
java version" on the
first line are the version, in this example 1.6.
